Graphic Black & White looks are one of our favorites. A combination that never gets old or out of style. Black & White as a pair is cool, modern & bold. Grids, stripes, plaids, geometric shapes and figure flattering vertical panels. As the weather has become very fickle, this fall, it's tough to rely on consistent temperatures for the season. So that calls for much needed and well thought out layering.
Hers: This particular dress is from vintage boutique Odd Twin in Brooklyn, which sadly closed. (Check their etsy shop) The white portion is all leather and the black side panels are in a thick jersey stretch fabric. Love how it has a Retro Mod feel but with a little tough edge. Good to keep the jewelry to a minimum, and let the interesting details, like the neckline pop on it's own. Fun paired with patterned monochromatic tights. Try keeping it black & white, do not always be tempted to add a pop of color, doing so only takes away from the impact. The Knitted Open Front Cardigan is made by Bosquejo Vida herself. ;-) The Leather Cropped Motorcycle Jacket is from L-Train Vintage's No Relation Sackett Street Shop. Since they both are of similar weight, it's OK to have varying lengths of layering pieces.
This is a great style of dress for many different body types. If you can't find a similar dress or motorcycle jacket in a vintage store, check all the options below you can order online, as well as accessories.
Black & White can also be infused with complimentary colors. Grunge pieces usually have lasting appeal to Men. Stylish and comfortable leather motorcycle jackets with jeans are the best combination. Finish off the look with Dr Marten's or combat boots for a more classic grunge look.
His: The Leather Motorcycle Jacket is from L-Train Vintage's No Relation East Village Shop....Classic. You also can't go wrong with a great Wool Plaid Button Front Shirt, especially from a classic quality brand like Pendleton. The Wool fabric is perfect for the Fall and Winter, without being to stuffy or thick. A Beanie hat tops off the look, with an embroidered word on the front, that evokes feeling and thought. Death isn't always just about being morbid, it's a natural process in human existence, maybe taken for granted, so it's a reminder to live life.
